Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us to thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.
Please pray for the following:
David Shafer, Butch Steer, Kelman Kvien & Steve Pulczinski
KNEELING AT MASS
from now on we will be kneeling after the Lamb of God and throughout the Communion rite except when going forward to receive Holy Communion.
And remember, the Eucharist is Jesus truly present, in his body, blood, soul and divinity!
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
Update: Mary Jacques has volunteered to coordinate the scheduling for Adoration. She’s working on a schedule for those who will commit to a time slot from 4:00-7:30 pm on Thursdays. We would like to extend the time. We will try prayer themes for Holy Hour 6:30-7:30 pm. Your suggestions are invited for a different schedule. Please contact Mary #218-242-4792. She can add you to the schedule and take your suggestions. Mass times will change on Thursdays to 5:15 pm.
“I am here, really present, available to you at any hour of the day or night. I wait for you. I want to listen to the cares and preoccupations that you carry like a heavy burden. Give them all to Me. Trust in Me and I will act. I have told you before, for Me nothing is insignificant. No detail of your life is too small and no sin too shameful to be brought to Me and to be abandoned at My feet. Yes, this is how the saints acted. They were certain that any difficulty entrusted to My Heart would find there the best of all possible solutions.” -(Jesus) In Sinu Jesus
Receiving Holy Communion -- Receiving holy Communion is nothing like grabbing something off the shelf in a store or clicking “buy now” through an app. Instead, it is a heart-to-heart encounter. With his whole heart, Our Lord and our God seeks to dwell with us, and with our whole heart, we welcome him.
Becoming Eucharistic is not merely about receiving the Eucharist. It is also about preparing to receive our Eucharistic Lord. Taking the time to pray before receiving him matters. Going to confession to clear out the “rubbish” matters. Asking Mary to show us the grace to receive her Son, perhaps through praying the Rosary, matters. And asking for the intercession and guidance of the angels and the saints to love Christ as they love him — that matters, too.
Amazon has hooked me on ease, but the Lord wants me to prepare to meet him with my whole self. You and I slowly become Eucharistic by preparing well to receive the Eucharist.
— Leonard J. DeLorenzo, Ph.D., works in the McGrath Institute for Church Life and teaches theology at the University of Notre Dame.—
“The Eucharist, as a mystery to be ‘lived,’ meets each of us as we are, and makes our concrete existence the place where we experience daily the radical newness of the Christian life. The eucharistic sacrifice nourishes and increases within us all that we have already received at Baptism, with its call to holiness, and this must be clearly evident from the way individual Christians live their lives. Day by day we become ‘a worship pleasing to God’ by living our lives as a vocation. Beginning with the liturgical assembly, the sacrament of the Eucharist itself commits us, in our daily lives, to doing everything for God’s glory.” –Pope Benedict XVI
Reverence at Mass
a little reminder…
Several have noted a growing lack of reverence at times when gathering in the churches before Mass and unnecessary conversation, even during Mass. This should not be happening. The attention should be given to the Lord and not on us. We have this one hour to listen, thank and praise God: let us not interfere with others who come to pray and prepare for Mass.
Please use self-discipline and save conversations till after Mass, outside of the Church, or elsewhere in the Church away from the pews where people are preparing for Mass. Let’s use this time before Mass to look over the readings and do our personal prayers.
-Thanks, Fr. John

“He said to them, ‘The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few…” -Luke 10:2
As Catholics we are all called to serve. Each of us has been given “charisms” otherwise known as gifts from the Holy Spirit to help build God’s Church. Our charisms can only be used for good. We know that we are using them in the right ministry when we are filled with joy and we want to share stories about our charitable works. Discern how God is calling you to use your charisms. Say “yes” to what God is calling you to do and then do it! Share your joy and invite others to do the same.
Accepting the Christian Message
Jesus said to the disciples, “Whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say, ‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.’” -Luke 10:10-11
God be praised! The Diocese of Crookston made the first payment to the Sisters of Saint Benedict for the Mount Saint Benedict property! With great enthusiasm, our staff diligently prepares for the relocation of Diocese of Crookston operations from Memorial Drive to Summit Avenue, where we will join the Sisters of Saint Benedict and transition the campus to the Diocese of Crookston Pastoral Center and Retreat Facility. We have incredible gratitude for all who have offered monetary and prayer support to get us to this point.
The Diocese of Crookston is nearing the $9 million in cash goal needed for the initial payment on the Mount Saint Benedict property. A special donor has generously agreed to match up to $300,000, dollar for dollar, for new gifts received between March 15 and June 15. If you have not yet had the opportunity to make your pledge and gift to the campaign, or if you have already made a one-time gift, perhaps you might prayerfully consider a new gift that will be matched dollar for dollar up to $300,000. Now is the time when every gift counts! Bishop Andrew Cozzens offers his encouragement as well as his gratitude for this new era in the life of the Diocese of Crookston. POPE'S PRAYER INTENTION FOR June:
for family
We pray for Christian families around the world; may they embody and experience unconditional love and advance in holiness in their daily lives.
SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
"My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You." Amen.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.
We ask the archangel Michael’s intercession for help against Satan’s attacks on family and community in our world.
