Knight's of Columbus website: http://www.kofc.org/en/index.html
Founded in 1882 and still true to their roots, the Knights of Columbus are men of faith and action providing charity, unity and fraternity on a local, national, and international level.
The Knights of Columbus is a trusted name, tried by time, present where men are, providing inspiring resources and support for strengthening your faith and living a life of virtue.
Knights lead with faith. Knights protect our families. Knights serve those in need.
When the world says men should step aside, Knights of Columbus step up!
We are Catholic men. We live by principles, informed by faith. We are sons, fathers, husbands, and grandfathers. Join us on life’s greatest adventure to discover the man God calls you to be.
New candidates being initiated soon at Roseau. Call Dan Moser (218-469-0645) or Lynn Kartes (463-1932) for more information.
Our local council of Knights is part of community of 15,342 councils made up of 1.9 million members. Founded in 1882, it is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal benefit societies. Recently it reached a total of $177 million in charitable gifts in one year and 75 million hours of charitable service from its members in the USA, Canada, the Philippines and several other countries. Working from the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism, its members recognize that these principles and their Catholic faith compel them to action. The Knight of Columbus are committed to serving and supporting their local priests and parishes such as they are doing in our parish through leadership of the fair food booth, KC breakfasts, benefit bingos, charitable giving, etc.
The local council is currently in the process of renewal and has scheduled a meeting with coffee and refreshments included for all KC members on Sunday evening, Dec. 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the church social hall. This meeting will involve the election of officers and other usual KC meeting agenda. The hope is to soon be working on bringing in new members and more action for the good of the parish. – Eric Klein
There is a wall box in the church entrance at Sacred Heart marked “Pennies for Seminarians”. The KC Councils in Minnesota collect donations and loose change at their meetings for the support of seminarians. You are invited to join in this effort – possibly putting in some loose change or other donation into the box. If you collect actual pennies or loose change at home you may turn in the container or bag of coins or check to a KC member or the parish office.
